  • Ingredients

    Turmeric

The Golden Paste Co believe in the whole root rather than just an extract as turmeric is made up of over 200+ compounds that synergistically work together. The curcumin levels will never be lower than 5.1%. They source from Indonesia rather than India due to quantities of lead being found in some sources of Indian grown turmeric.

    Coconut Oil

The Golden Paste Co use cold-pressed and organic coconut oil, as this aids bioactive absorption and supports intestinal health. Quite simply, it is needed for the turmeric to work as curcumin has low solubility in water. The coconut oil is the perfect healthy fat for the curcumin to attach to.

    Apple Cider Vinegar

The Golden Paste Co apple cider vinegar is complete with “the mother”. They use this unfiltered version as it keeps the beneficial bacteria, yeast and protein. It is ripe with B-vitamins and polyphenols (plant-based antioxidants) and includes compounds such as quercetin which can help with absorption and bioavailability.

    Black Pepper (Piperine)

The Golden Paste Co have added black pepper into the paste as it contains the bioactive piperine. Piperine has been shown to help poor digestion and has anti-inflammatory properties – that’s not all… arguably the most important benefit is that it increases absorption and bioavailability of curcumin – some say by up to 2000%!

    Ceylon Cinnamon

The Golden Paste Co use Ceylon (true) cinnamon which acts as an anti-inflammatory, contains antioxidants, and has antimicrobial effects. This super powerful ingredient supplies a range of bioactives that support gut health, absorption and the optimisation of insulin metabolism.

Please refer to the How To Feed tab

Is the paste good for arthritis?

Absolutely! The Golden Paste Co products support the body's natural inflammation processes. Many customers have had success stories with this product for joint health.

    Can I feed alongside medication?

As The Golden Paste Co products are natural, many medications can be combined with the products safely. However, The Golden Paste Co always recommend speaking with your vet first.

    Can this help with cancer?

There are many bioactive substances that are being researched in the race to cure cancer. Turmeric, for example, has been shown to have some effect on the release of tumour necrosis factors (TNF) that are critical in the reduction of cancer cells. However, most development is at the test tube level and so it would be unhelpful and unlawful to make any claims on the role of bioactives, extrapolated to daily situations. Many owners do report beneficial effects with The Golden Paste Co products, and they may well mirror those results found in research situations. As more data becomes available, The Golden Paste Co may be able to link their bioactives to the complex biochemistry of cancerous cells.

    Where is the turmeric sourced?

The Golden Paste Co source from Indonesia rather than India due to quantities of lead being found in some sources of Indian grown turmeric.

Can I feed this to pregnant dogs?

Yes, but should be fed to the pre-gravid weight of the mother.

Will a fussy dog eat this?

Do I need to use other supplements alongside?

The Golden Paste Co supplements are fast acting and very effective and because their products are made with the highest quality natural ingredients, further supplements should not be required. However, if you are feeding other supplements, this should not be an issue.

What is the difference between the Turmeric Capsules for Pets and Turmeric Golden Paste for Pets?

The Golden Paste Co Capsules for Pets contain three key ingredients: turmeric, flax oil and pepper.

The Golden Paste Co Turmeric Golden Paste for Pets contains turmeric, coconut oil, pepper, Ceylon cinnamon and apple cider vinegar.

Both products give your pet their daily dose of turmeric goodness!

Why does it contain potassium sorbate, is that a harmful chemical?

Potassium sorbate is derived from the naturally occurring sorbic acid, as it is easier to handle and incorporate than the acid. It is a preservative combatting yeast and fungal growth, where the moisture content of the product encourages their growth. It is fully authorised for use in human food, pet food and livestock feed, as well as cosmetics. It passes through the intestine and is broken down to potassium (an important factor in many metabolic processes), carbon dioxide and water. It is harmless at levels of incorporation.
